Very close to the town hall, you can't help but notice the Fortress Inn, once a Saxon home of a large family from Saschiz and built in 1814.

Once you cross its threshold through the imposing gate, the movie scene of the terrace opens up: the ruins of the peasant fortress of refuge located on the highest hill near the Saschiz.

The interior mediaval terrace of the inn offers a unique view of the fortified UNESCO church, but also of the peasant fortress guarding the hearth of the village.
