The Biertan Winery joins the program of activities offered by the Biertan Commune City Hall for the European Heritage Days in Biertan and offers visitors the opportunity to participate in two guided tours at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, led by a local who worked there during the winery's heyday.

Built between 1961 and 1963, the Biertan Winery was once one of the largest in Sibiu County. Unfortunately, the hundreds of hectares of vineyards on the terraced hills of Biertan have disappeared, with Jidvei being the last to manage them until 2009.

This year, the new owners have decided to reopen the winery for visits, and its rooms, with their immense vats and vintage equipment, have become genuine tourist attractions.

Before or after the tour, it’s a perfect time to enjoy a pizza on the terrace of the winery's restaurant. And here’s a tip: the winery's park offers plenty of shade, perfect for cooling off.
