"Memories and Flavors of Calbor" is a gastronomic tour of the village, woven from local stories, houses, bread, and vineyards. We begin at the Calbor School and village museum, where we unfold the story of the place, then continue to a traditional homestead—complete with house and barn—to get a closer look at how life was lived here and how the village's memory is preserved through objects, spaces, and customs.
Along the way, we visit a homemade bread oven fired up especially for us to hear stories about the bread, then head to the vineyard to talk about wine, the seasons, the labor involved, and the connection between the local harvest and the food on our table—all while enjoying a lunch featuring an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
The event is organized by the Făgăraș Research Institute, together with Calbor College and the Calbor Museum, and with the support of the local community. It is a tour that explores Calbor through flavors and memories, as well as through the people and places that continue to give meaning to these stories. We also hope this gastronomic tour will serve as a starting point for promoting the area and supporting the local community; the price includes a donation to Calbor College.
