The ninth edition of the largest festival dedicated to Saxon culture and traditions in Transylvania, Haferland Week, will take place physically and online, from July 30 to August 1.
Program Criț - Fortified church
10.30am – Welcoming the guests by the Saxon brass band “Tara Barsei” with old Saxon songs
11.00am – Divine service with Reinhart Guib – Bishop of the Evangelical Church C.A. in Romania, in the fortified church in Criț, in the presence of personalities
12.00pm – Welcoming the personalities at the exit of the church by the Saxon brass band “Tara Barsei”
12.15pm – Official speeches
01.30pm – Concert „Enescu-Bartok 140 years”
02.15pm – Theater play “The Diary of Adam and Eve”, adaptation / dramatization after Mark Twain. Actors from the Gheorghe Stanca National Theater in Sibiu.
02.50pm – Artistic moment – Saxon folk dances performed by the“Korona Cultural Association” from Brasov
03.15pm – Concert with traditional Saxon and Romanian music by the “Neppendorfer Brass Band”.
04.00pm – Book presentation of the German edition of “Neighborhoods of the Saxons in Crit”, in the presence of: Ruxandra Hurezean – author of “Neighborhoods of the Saxons in Crit”, editor-in-chief of the Sinteza magazine; Liana Iunesch – translator and co-author of “Neighborhoods of the Saxons in Crit”, Ph.D. – lecturer at the University of Lucian Blaga in Sibiu; Benjamin Józsa, moderator, chairman of the Democratic Forum of Germans from Romania
05.00pm – screening of the documentary about fortified churches by Florin Besoiu. Event organized by the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation
10.30am-06.00pm Traveling exhibition “Samuel von Brukenthal – an early European”
