On September 6, 2025, the villages of Romania come to life again with the third edition of the Village Museum Night, a unique cultural event in Europe, dedicated to rural heritage and the communities that keep it alive.
In Cincu, you will be able to visit the fortified church between 16:00 and 23:00. The church is dedicated to the Holy Sea, the oldest Romanesque basilica with three naves in the rural area of Transylvania.
You will also be able to visit the museum exhibition illustrating ethnography and local history, inaugurated in 1975, under the guidance of teacher Eugen Barbu. A corner is reserved and dedicated to the great patriot Valeriu Braniște, honorary member of the Romanian Academy born in this locality (his life and work).
Glass painting, a notable manifestation of Transylvanian folk creation, is brilliantly represented within the museum by the students participating in the Painting Circle (1975-1998), a circle led by the folk painter Nicolae Suciu, drawing teacher at the Cincu General School, a son of this village.
