Nemşa Fortified Evangelical Church, a legacy of Stephan Ludwig Roth

A few kilometers from Mediaș, discover the village of Nemșa and the story that connects it to Stephan Ludwig Roth, a Lutheran priest, teacher, writer, politician, militant for the equal rights of the peasants, the abolition of serfdom and political rights.

The program of the day includes:

- An exhibition of paintings by Nicolae Romanițan, photographs by Marius Dan Moga and live painting by Bianca Ferăstrău, presented as an incursion of technological premonitions from a distant past, in the setting of the secular church in Nemșa.

- Creative workshop for children - in collaboration with Glăjăria Mediaș. Primary and secondary school students from Nemsa, along with teachers, are expected to participate in the workshop.

- The tour of the fortified enclosure - with the presentation of the history of the building and the existing murals in the church. The ensemble is a class A historical monument, the original part of the choir (XIV century) has been preserved from the church.

During the event, a photocopy of his last letter accompanied by the Romanian translation will be presented, the letter being addressed to his five children and the parishioners of Nemșa and Moșna commune. An excerpt of this letter will be printed and given as a gift to visitors.
