History and stories from the fortress

Throughout the day, 2 km away from Biertan and 20 from Sighisoara and Mediaș, enjoy guided visits to the fortified church in Copşa Mare. In the evening, starting at 18:00, we invite the public to: workshops for children and families, a fair with local products and, for those who wish, a tour of the village with a stop at the viewpoint on Cucu' hill.

We tell folk tales from Transylvania, with the participation of the actress Gazdag Erzsébet
The selected fairy tales will have the common theme of the fortress and life in the fortress and will be presented interactively, with the participation of the public, using props and decorative elements, highlighting the specific space offered by the fortified church of Copșa Mare. The event will be accompanied by live music.

This interactive approach to fairy tales is suitable for both children and interested adults, providing the perfect opportunity for a family event where children can participate alongside their parents and grandparents.

Creative workshop
Under the guidance of professionals, interesting children (6-12 years old) will have the opportunity to experience individually or in small groups how they can design and build their own fortified fortress. After a brief introduction to the history of the fortified churches in the Transylvanian area, the children will be guided to design their dream fortress on paper, and then they will be helped to build the fortress model from wooden cubes and stones, with the possibility to paint the elements in acrylic colors.

During the workshop, we encourage the creativity and imagination of the participants, respectively we offer a safe space for practicing children's physical coordination and motor skills.
