Apoș is waiting for you with open doors to discover its stories

Between 14:00 and 21:00 you can visit the private collection of Emil Lascu - Apoș village no. 126. Begun at the age of 68, the personal collection of Mr. Emil Lascu includes objects belonging to all ethnic groups living together in the village of Apoș. The objects were procured against cost over the last twenty years, from the bordering area.

In Apoș, the old crafts are being revived: we are inaugurating the "Blue Forge", on the site of the old blacksmith's shop in the village, near the Villa Abbatis Equestrian Center in the village of Apoș. The documentary attestation from the year 1322 is related to the Cârţa monastery, Apoș being mentioned as a possession of the Cistercian monastery under the name of Villa Abbatis, being a fief of the monastery and the "abbot's village".

We visit the traditional tile factory and learn about the tiling technique and the sustainable circular economy, we will see how the tile craftsmen make, from a handful of soil, such a useful tile with the clay brought from the tile factory! Sensing the danger of the disappearance of the historical tiles from Transylvania, competed by industrial products, the Monumentum Association started the construction of the tile factory in Apoș in early 2013, with the aim of reintroducing traditional tiles into the landscape of Transylvanian villages by reviving a craft that is on the way to extinction and that does not it can only be passed down from generation to generation. It was born from the need to have access - locally - to traditional construction materials, more precisely to bricks and tiles. It was inaugurated in June 2015 in the presence of A.S.R. King Charles III, then Prince of Wales.
