Cuptorul cu dulceață
During the event we would like to present the Saxon household located in the commune of Marpod on 350 Primăriei Street, directly opposite the Evangelical church in the heart of the Saxon village. The houses of the village are, to a large extent, the same ones in which the Saxons settled in the Hârtibaci Valley lived.
The farm includes the following elements:
The house itself renovated while preserving the elements and techniques of the area
The original well built by the Saxons
The annex - a bread oven preserved in its original state and the place where the Minoboutique Sibiu products are born - jams, syrups, sherbets, mustards and other salty and sweet specialties in small jars and in limited editions
The barn built with care in 1912 as engraved on the main beam, reinforced for stabilization to which a platform with folding doors was added that allows access to a view over the village spread out in the valley, to the surrounding hills; a landscape dominated by the northern slope of the Făgăraș Mountains.
An integral part of the event will also be the full moon rising from behind the slopes of the Făgăraș Mountains; event that depends on the cooperation of nature which we hope will help us with a clear sky or just lightly decorated with fluffy clouds to illuminate the moon as it rises above the mountains.
You will be able to taste jams, syrups and other sweet and spicy products and you will be able to participate in a workshop on preparing eggplant zacusca.
The little ones will be able to participate in a weaving workshop on a loom with natural plants and flowers.
Participants will explore the process by which plants and flowers become elements of artistic creation, will learn the basic techniques of weaving and will make their own compositions using natural materials.
