On the occasion of the Night of museums in the villages 2024, we invite the public to the Cincșor fortified church, which has become a cultural church, to enjoy architecture, history and contemporary art.

What you can visit:

– in the church: the exhibition "Lost and Found" by the artist Edda Wittenberger-David. Born in Sibiu, Edda Wittenberger-David lives in Germany with her family. Her abstract painting materializes the experiences and emotions of the artist. “The desire to paint comes from the shapes and colors around me and within me. I work with pigments, acrylic paints and various chalks, sometimes collages. There is no limitation except the canvas format. The search, until reaching a final composition, is a hard journey: irritation, tension, harmony."

- in the sacristy: the exhibition "Pewter Craft in Western Europe and Transylvania, XVI-XIX centuries", organized within the Cincșor Cultural Church project, supported by the Romanian Order of Architects from the Architectural Stamp. Pewter objects from parish collections (from the evangelical parishes of Făgăraș, Cârța, Cincșor, Felmer) and from private collections are exhibited. The exhibition is structured in three sections: objects for church use, objects for household and daily use and objects with a decorative and ceremonial role.

– in the yard of the former Evangelical parish and in the yard of the former Saxon school: Anadora Lupo sculpture exhibition. After studying in detail the properties of different metals and imagining them in all kinds of forms, Anadora Lupo and her team have created a unique collection of functional sculptures that can find their place in homes, offices and outdoor spaces.

Guided tours (in Romanian and English) will take place from 17:00, 19:00 and 21:00.
