On the first weekend of August, the commune of Jibert becomes a meeting place for the communities and traditions that have built its identity. Two days of celebration bring together music, dance, crafts and the Romanian and Saxon heritage of the area.
Saturday, August 1, 2026 – Meeting of the Saxons of the Commune of Jibert
In the courtyard of the Jibert Junior High School, Saxons and descendants of the communities of Jibert, Dacia, Lovnic, Văleni and Grânari gather, along with former and current residents of the commune. The event is an opportunity to say goodbye, to remember local history and to celebrate Saxon traditions, in an atmosphere animated by Die Burzenland Party Band.
Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM – Multicultural Traditions Festival
The festival organized in the courtyard of the Jibert Junior High School offers an afternoon of music, dance and local traditions. Andreea Bălan, Father Marius Ciprian Pop and Miruna Lazea will take the stage, along with folk ensembles, guests from several communities and the band established within the cultural project.
The public will be able to participate in a traditional sewing workshop and discover authentic elements of the local heritage, such as the Fecioreasca de Jibert and the popular cries specific to the area.
The events are part of the cultural project “Revival and Promotion of Traditions in the Jibert Commune”, carried out by the Jibert Commune in partnership with the Jibert Cultural Association and financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration.
