It is said that the number 7 is a magical and a lucky one, and we want to share with you the joy of the 700th anniversary of our beautiful village of Meschendorf. We will be joined by the whole community of Saxons, Romanians and our guests, on 𝓐𝓾𝓰𝓾𝓼𝓽 7𝓽𝓱, on the seventh day, Sunday, of course.

Let's spend the whole day together in an authentic Saxon village on Transylvanian Highlands. Located less than 30 km from Rupea Fortress and almost 40 km from Sighișoara, the village, hidden among the hills, reveals a world of yesterday, admirable stories and nice people.
Fairytale landscapes await you, with quiet wooded hills and meadows full of fragrant flowers and multicolored butterflies, the quiet streets with Saxon houses, the fortified church, the Orthodox church, the school and the kindergarten. Everywhere you look, you will be amazed by the simple rural life: cattle, sheep, goats, beautiful gardens with all sorts of delicious fruits and vegetable. You will definitely get to know the children from the village, the locals but also the Saxons who have returned home.
We will celebrate together with the thought of the traditions, customs and long history of our village that we are all proud of, whether we call it Mesendendorf, Meschenderf, Meschendorf, Meschdorff or Mese.

To celebrate this anniversary the program includes: an evangelical service, fanfare music, Romanian folk dances, Saxon & German dances. And, because it is not possible to celebrate without a variety of dishes, we also prepared a fair with local products cooked by our hard-working villagers, as well as a lunch that we could enjoy outside, in the shade, in the courtyard of the fortified church. All the goodies are made with ingredients from the gardens and pantries of the villagers. The traditional homemade bread, our stuffed cabbage rolls, and the Saxon pie and the rhubarb pie will not be missing from the traditional lunch.
