Last year, the Fuga Lolelor Cincu Tradition also included the Fuga Lolelor Cincu Art and History Museum. We are opening the MASQUERADE exhibition on February 8, to which we are very honored to invite you!

MASQUERADE celebrates the symbolism and power of the mask, both as a revered object and as a manifestation of artistic disguise. Through masks worn in sacred rituals, shamanic healing ceremonies or as bridges to the mysteries of nature, we find ourselves fascinated by their ability to conceal, transform and reveal.

This exhibition explores the connection between contemporary art and seasonal performance traditions, such as the Urzellauf Großschenk/Fuga Lolelor Cincu from Transylvania. MASQUERADE brings together a unique curatorial selection, including remarkable collections of African and Asian masks, wearable artefacts and sculptures with an alchemically inspired materiality. Through these, the exhibition invites a celebration of transcultural consciousness and artistic and cultural identity.
