On Sunday, February 23, we set off from Mediaș along the Via Transilvanica, heading gently towards Bazna—a place that will delight both our taste buds and our eyes!

This is an easy hike, with just one uphill stretch and about 7 km through the forest. From the woods, we’ll head straight to a well-deserved meal at Bassen Pension, a local gastronomic stop. Here, we’ll taste this year’s zacuscă, warm up with a hearty local soup, and finish with a homemade dessert.

We’ll also visit their pantry, where we can snap some pictures but, more importantly, bring home some delicious goodies. (Did someone say Bazna sausages?)

For those who want to stretch their legs after the meal, there’s a short post-lunch stroll through Bazna Spa Resort, sprinkled with local legends (or facts?).
