On Sunday, February 23rd, we’re setting off from Mediaș along the Via Transilvanica, making our way leisurely towards Bazna—a place that promises to delight both our taste buds and our eyes.

It’s an easy hike, with just one uphill stretch and around 7 km through the forest. Once we emerge from the woods, we’ll head straight to the table at Bassen Pension, a local gastronomic stop. There, we’ll taste this year’s zacusca, warm up with a traditional soup, and finish off with a homemade dessert.

But the real treat? We’ll descend into their pantry, where we can take photos—though, let’s be honest, the real goal is to bring some of that pantry home with us.

After the feast, there’s also a short post-lunch stroll through the Bazna Spa Resort, spiced up with a few local legends (or are they facts?).
