For the fourth year in a row, we will celebrate "Global Big Day", an annual bird celebration to find as many species as possible in 24 hours!
Podișul Hârtibaciului, is the largest and most important terrestrial protected area for birds in Romania. So what better place to spend a day birding with friends and contribute to citizen science?
To sign up, you need a team of 1 - 5 people, a team name and it would be helpful to have at least one person in your team who knows something about birds (not a requirement)! In the past, whole families, couples and friends have participated, all with different knowledge about birds. The important thing is not necessarily to win, but to get out in the scenery of our region and enjoy the birds and other wildlife it has to offer. Our friends at TRANS.FORT will be organizing a "Night of the Museums" at the church in Apold, with live music, activities, exhibits and refreshments. This is where the teams will meet up after they finish at 18:00 and where the trophy will be awarded to the team with the most species spotted... there will be other prizes too!
