Global Big Day is an annual celebration of the birds around you, giving you 24 hours to record as many species as possible! We warmly invite you to join us in Hosman for a day of birdwatching within the Podișul Hârtibaciului protected area.

Ideally, you will be able to join us personally for the day, where there are accommodation options available in both Hosman and Apold. If you are unable however, then you are still welcome to enter and take part in an area near you. The evening before there will be a zoom to give some background information and the rules!

To join, you need a team of 1 - 4 people, a team name and it would be helpful to have at least one person in your team who knows something about birds (not a necessary requirement)! A little before midnight we will meet in Apold to compare the lists of what we have seen and the winner will receive a trophy!

As part of our ongoing project tackling the intensive cattle breeding in the region, we are carrying out a number of bird surveys this year. As an entry, a donation to this cause would be very welcome!
