Lichiu / ([li-kiu] or [LEE-kyoo]), but not just any kind.
On October 25–26, the hosts at Viscri 32 invite you to slow down and discover seven kinds of lichiu — three savory, four sweet — each baked with care and served with stories from Tanti Ilonka and her daughter Sabina, the keepers of this tradition.
Each slice comes with a glass of DeMatei wine, chosen to match the flavors and mood of the season — because here, terroir isn’t a trend, it’s a truth you can taste.
Alongside the lichiu tastings, you’ll find:
🧀 Aged cheeses from Trascău and Meșendorf
🍇 Rhubarb and elderflower jam from the ADEPT Foundation
🍷 Warm Transylvanian glögi (without reindeer, but with plenty of cloves)
☕ Artisan coffee from Sloane Roastery — to keep you awake through all these slow pleasures
Everything unfolds at our own rhythm — no rush, no loud music, no dress code.
Just honest food, local stories, and people who believe that doing little, but doing it well, is enough.
The event is part of the Slow Food Transylvanian Heritage initiative, uniting the Slow Food communities of Viscri and Sibiu in preserving the region’s culinary roots.
There are only 44 places, and for obvious reasons, they can’t be booked through apps.
