The marsh fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia)

It lives on the wet meadows, rich in the devil's-bit. For nectar, butterflies visit mainly yellow flowers. The eggs are also deposited on the devil's-bit, in piles with overlapping layers, on the lower face of the leaf. The larvae live in nests formed on the plant, where they winter.
