Frauendorf Guesthouse was developed around the hosts’ former family home in the village of Axente Sever. Carefully restored and extended, the property preserves the atmosphere of a traditional Transylvanian household through antique furniture, family objects and details connected to the history of the house, combined with contemporary comfort.

The guesthouse offers six rooms, including a premium apartment, a spacious courtyard and shared areas designed for relaxation and small gatherings. A particularly distinctive space is the Emil Basarab Lounge, featuring the family library and a welcoming fireplace. Guests also have access to a sauna.

Meals are prepared by the hosts using ingredients from their own household and from local producers. Homemade preserves, cured meats and traditional recipes with a contemporary touch make local gastronomy an important part of the experience. The guesthouse is located along the Via Transilvanica route and is an official stamping point for the trail’s Hiker’s Passport.
