The red-footed falcon (Falco vespertinus)

You can spot them especially in areas with open ground, with tree clusters, in steppes, meadows and pastures with trees.

It naturally avoid closed forests and the mountain area. Insects predominate in the food of adults, as well as amphibians, reptiles, small mammals and, more rarely, other smaller small birds are added.

It is the only bord of prey from our area that breeds in a colony, and most often uses magpie or rook's nests; sometimes it occupies large hollows in secular trees.

Departure for Africa: begins in mid-August and ends in mid-October, and returns at the end of April-early May.

It is also referred to as the evening little falcon.
