From log to wood chipper with Alex Herberth, KraftMade Cincu
What you will do
✓ Practical woodworking workshop, guided by Alex Herberth, carpenter and restorer with 25 years of experience
✓ Direct work with wood, tools, basic techniques
✓ Guided tour of the Cincu fortified church
✓ Local lunch and walk through the village with visits to local attractions (Loles Museum, Textile Workshop, Village Museum)
✓ Local herbal tea and stories at the end of the day
What you will learn
• You will split oak trunks and get planks, like in the old days
• You will shape the wood with traditional tools (axe and barda)
• You will straighten and smooth the planks with different types of planers
• You will cut the pieces to the desired size with a hand saw
• Optional: you will make decorative profiles or protect the wood with natural oil
Schedule
11:00–12:30 – First part of the workshop practical
12:30–13:30 – Lunch in the courtyard of the fortified church
13:30–15:00 – Guided tour of the Cincu fortified church and mini quiz + Lole Museum
15:00–18:30 – Second part of the workshop
18:30–19:30 – Herbal tea and socializing in the courtyard of the fortified church
